OandDWorld.com presents…

Just wanna clear some things up.

October 2, 2008 · 11 Comments

Hey guys it seems like everyone is startin to go nuts all of the sudden. I just wanted to clear a few things up and explain why I’m starting a new forum for those who want to join.

* I have no ill feelings toward the Big O & Dukes Show. I love the show and have done a million things to help them out over the past 4yrs and I won’t stop. I believe it’s a good product.

* No one should be hating on Erik for anything he has done. He has made it known that NoShtickZone is now a show forum where people need to only talk favorably about the show. That’s how he wants to run the site which is cool with me, but I know I and a lot of others would rather have a FAN forum run by fans for the fans where we can speak our mind; positive or negative without fearing that our posts will be deleted, we will be banned, or belittled if we don’t agree with something. Both forums should be able to coexist and in my honest opinion having MORE forums will help the show spread even more.

* I would like to turn O&D World into strictly a fan site with no show related influences so we can all share what we like as well as what we dislike about certain segments, etc. Afterall….that’s what a fan site should be all about. You think Stern ever goes on SternFanNetwork.com and regulates when people bitch about him…NO CHANCE. Actually he has probably never even gone to the site at all.

No ill will people. I still support the SHOW 100% whether the cast ends up hating me or not. I don’t have to agree with the off air conduct to believe in the product and support it.

New O&D World Forum Coming Soon…

October 1, 2008 · 19 Comments

As many of you know I was banned from NoShtickZone. Why, you ask? I didn’t break any of the rules. I think I may have missed the ultra fine print rule that says “If you don’t agree with every opinion of a certain someone you can and will be ridiculed, warned, and probably banned for no good reason”. That being said I’m creating a new forum.

Whether 5 of you or 5,000 of you join the new forum that I will be adding to the site I don’t care. I just want a place where ALL fans can feel welcome to express their views on the show, segments, cast, etc without having to fear being banned, berated, or having their posts deleted because they aren’t the same opinions of the powers that be and shall remain nameless…..even though you ALL know what I’m talking about. There will be no show host mods and in fact they will have 0 control over what you want to say. All opinions will be welcome. There will be rules, but it will not fall into the Nazi rule that the other forum has turned into.  Thanks and anyone who wants to discuss the show openly come on into the chat or check out the new forum that will be up this weekend.

Thanks as always for the support guys. I appreciate all the kind words I’ve been getting.

-Bussells

Also, I will be putting up the podcasts again tonight until I’m told to stop. If CBS doesn’t want em up there they can tell me to take em down and I will. If they don’t want their show being promoted that’s on them to decide.

Podcasts are down for good people….

October 1, 2008 · 5 Comments

Chad made me take em down. So take up your beef with him. I’m also taking down anything else that could be infringement towards to them. I’ll keep the blog going and the chat for sure because a lot of you enjoy it.  Thanks and keep checking back. I’ll have new LEGAL shirts up soon.

-Bussells

<UPDATE> Apprently people are confused as to what happened. During the argument about me selling shirts I said “Fine all just take down everything I do to help spread the word since I don’t own the podcasts”  Chad said “Fine, take everything down”   That’s the short story. I won’t get into the long story on here because it’s dumb. If Chad or Oscar says to put them back all they have to do is say the word. I didn’t delete em from the site, I just changed the name of the folder they are in so no one can get to them. They are still up there. All I need to do is change the name of the folder back to what it was and you’ll have em back.

Hail to the Redskins!

September 29, 2008 · 1 Comment

Cowboys fans from everywhere but Dallas be DAMNED!

Despite the coverage and pregame victory celebration given to Dallas, the Redskins went into Texas Stadium and rocked it, coming away with a 26-24 victory. Jim Zorn’s Game Plan was impeccable, taking out all their weapons and neutralizing th pass rush after the first quarter. Conditioning, game plan, sheer force of will; whatever it was, Zorn is building a legacy one game at a time. Campbell is stepping up in the pocket, and standing tall, Clinton Portis is looking through the blockers and charging his lanes, and Rogers/Smoot/Springs/Horton are playing the best football of their careers. Depth is there, heart is there- I don’t know how this will all end, but I am psyched to see the knockdown, drag out battlenext week against the Iggles.

Hail!

The River Recap – Friday Sept 26th

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well, where to start? First off, this was one of their BEST shows PERIOD. Great interviews, fantastic segments, and an animal favorite “Snacks of the Roundtable” all crammed into a 5 hour mid-day masterpiece. The show opened with the “swinging dicks” talking about their Saturday Sept 27th appearance at the Northern Virginia Brewfest from 12:00 to 4:00 (but we all know they’ll stay longer). The Brewfest will be at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA from 11-8 Sat and 11-7 Sun this weekend. Seriously, if you want to hang out with the guys tomorrow and experience some great beers from some of the greatest breweries, then please show up and you’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time. Plus, if you can secure a limo or designated driver, you can also get smashed all to hell!

After that, Oscar & Chad started talking bout some football and let’s face it, if you’re watching regular TV shows instead of watching USC LOSE to Oregon State then you might have a problem for God’s sakes. Might want to check your “man” status too. Also, does anyone really think the Redskins will go to Dallas and beat the Cowboys even though that HATED team has Tony Homo as its quarterback?

Unless that douchebag is holding for a game-winning field goal or extra point, you might as well forget it!

Up next was a FANTASTIC interview with the actor Laz Alonso. This guy was so down to earth and truly eloquent that this interview could have gone on for HOURS. This guy has been in more movies and television shows than God for crying out loud.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0022306/

Up next was the animal favorite “Snacks of the Roundtable” which featured Chad, Oscar, Drab, JeffDWright, Chad’s mom, Jormand, Jake, and Rob from Seasons. As usual Oscar had his snack bought for him by someone else (this time it was Lizzie the intern), but the real surprise was that neither Drab or Chad won this thing. Rob pulled off a .5 point upset and immediately proclaimed his retirement as an undefeated SOTR champion (imagine that)!

The next interview was with one Gina (I’m hotter than shit) Carrano from EliteXC. We can only imagine the amount of fapping that was going on during this s

egment. The guys asked her some great questions and she was very responsive about her career with MMA, her friendship with Kimbo Slice, and her upcoming fights. When Oscar & Chad mentioned that shot of her at the last EliteXC event where she did the lip biting thing while arching her eyebrow, I nearly had an aneurism. Fortunately, I was able to calm down once Drab did his impersonation of Gina’s lip biting as that basically killed the “moment” of picturing Gina doing it. Still though, well done Drab!

Then Colt Brennan, the Redskin quarterback, called in for God’s sakes (I told you guys this was a FANTASTIC show) and what a “swinging dick” this dude is. He’s extremely accomodating, a wonderful interview, and apparently BORED out of his mind. He’s willing to join in with the guys for a “Home Invasion ” movie viewing party, as well as possibly inviting everyone over to Chris Cooley’s house for another get together in the near future. Are you kidding me? Can this guy be any cooler? No pretension, no snobbiness, just a real cool dude!

After that they checked their hilarious voicemails where callers/listeners call in to leave messages (feel free to leave one at 301-910-9437) and then one Bradley Fukerton did a series of voices that just made everyone crap their pants. He did Alf, Rocky, Stone Cold Steve Austin, as well as a bunch of others too.

Last up was their segment with esteemed movie critic Mike Bracken ( a personal favorite of mine ) who ACTUALLY SAW four movies this past week. Normally he says he “saw” three when really he sees one, but apparently since his phone wasn’t working and his basement was flooded, old Smooth Daddy B got the hell out of his house and went to the movies instead.

On a personal note, I would like to thank ALL the members of this show by saying they were so gracious to me when I dropped by this morning. Since I didn’t have my normal Mike Bracken’s Ex-Wife phone call prepared for today, I felt obligated to redeem myself by buying some food at McDonald’s and giving it to them at their studio. I then proceeded to stay for about an hour and a half, as I was THRILLED to see everyone and was truly interested in watching how this show operates. Oscar, Chad, Drab, Jormand, hell EVERYONE could NOT have been nicer or more friendly. Thanks for the wonderful time guys! Next time, I’ll call first and maybe bring a crappy snack for SOTR!

Till next time,

The River

Colt Brennan LOVES Big O and Dukes!

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A monumental occasion for the boys at the Fairfax studios at the mighty WJFK. Number 5 on your roster, number 1 in your hearts, Washington Redskins QB Colt Brennan called into the show on Friday, giving rods to many listeners across the DC area. The boys couldn’t be more excited to talk to the guy, and let me tell you as a diehard ‘Skins fan I was just as excited.T he guys talked about Colt’s saga from being basically booted off the team at Colorado to his record-breaking years at Hawaii. They also touched on him being drafted by one of the premiere franchises in the NFL and his experiences so far. He talked about the Chris Cooley incident with the playbook and some rather revealing photos. The guys were even more excited with the possibility of a Home Invasion-esque day with Colt, just sitting around watching a movie. Now where would this kind of event take place? Well, Colt suggested it be held at another Redskin’s home in the area. None other than Chris Cooley. I am sure the guys could pull that since Cooley seems like one of those laid back kinda guys.

The guys also had one of the baddest women on the planet on when they interviewed Gina Carano from Elite-XC. During the interview, they touched on several topics including the literal “brush-off” that MMA gets from the sports juggernaut ESPN. They also discussed her upcoming fight and what her feelings were about Kimbo Slice and the interview he had with PTI earlier in the week. For more on that check out the greatest website on the planet thefukerton.com.

Better living through mechanical women

September 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

On Thursday’s show a caller jogged my memory by mentioning that hardly classic 1987 sci-fi sleeper Cherry 2000.  Though the movie truly sucked, it is as Dukes pointed out a really sweet premise.  Women all over the world will indeed be in trouble once accu-jack technology advances to this point.

Al Jean from The Simpsons Phoner

September 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Matt Groening & Al Jean

Matt Groening & Al Jean

Hey everybody! As a new contributor to OandDWorld let me just introduce myself quickly. My name is Scott, I live in Gaithersburg and have been listening to Big O and Dukes since they were on HFS in Baltimore. I have been to a couple of their events and have called in a few times. Anyways, I think that is enough about me.

I just listened to the interview with Al Jean, Executive Producer of a little show called The Simpsons.  Maybe you have heard of it, and if you haven’t in the words of The Fukerton “GO KILL YOURSELF!”.  The guys seemed to be almost star-struck talking to Al since they grew up watching The Simpsons just like everyone else growing up through the early ’80s and ’90s. And the guy couldn’t have been more down to earth. The guys asked some great questions, like how difficult it is to come up with new and fresh ideas for a show that has been on for so long. They also inquired how difficult it was making the recent Simpsons movie and juggling that with producing new TV episodes and the transition from TV to cinema.

I don’t want to give away everything, but all in all it was a great interview. I myself have watched The Simpsons since they started airing on the Tracy Ullman Show back in 1988 ( yeah its been on that long!). I love that show. It makes me LOL on a daily basis even checking out the reruns. Everyone should definitely check it out at wjfk.com or through ITunes. Be sure to also check out the message board, noshtickzone.com, and from the mind of Chad “Warmachine” Dukes thefukerton.com.

Later all you animals out there.

Shtick Funerals

September 23, 2008 · 2 Comments

Certainly less weird than furries, the guys discussed planning for novelty coffins for their own funerals. It really is creepy to purchase and store your own coffin, waiting for yourself to kick off.

On one side, novelty coffins can alleviate some tension from a funeral shrouded in some sort of controversy surrounding an untimely death. On the other there is the morbid whackados that put on a show with their own corpse.

But it came out as an unanimaous agreement, a themed casket with maybe some advertising or brand names on it such as TapouT, Affliction, or Diet Dr Pepper for Matthew Robert Cahill Drabber, could be a strong way to go out.
